How to Sublimate on Dark Color T Shirts-Cotton Tee shirts- ANY BLEND

However, these are materials I use all of the time, and if you click the highlight words you can see the exact item on the things I have shared with you based on my own experience and opinions.

While it's not possible to sublimate dark colors, low polyester shirts, or 100 percent cotton directly,  You can use Sublimation Vinyl to sublimate anything you want. Personally, For the last few years I have used HTVRONT Sublimation Vinyl for Dark/Light Fabric-- The 20 foot roll gives you plenty of "practice canvas"

While I can and have used the print to cut method on my Cameo or Cricut (the size of the roll is perfect for both) , For this project, I just Cut it with scissors to fit my image! However, I REALLY like my rotary tool and mat for this because it avoids the cut being as crooked as a dogs hind leg (Grandma Frieda words!, LOL)

Please note, you need SHARP scissors. This is Vinyl, and not super thin. I used a pair from this set that

These are the quick shirts I did for a friend this weekend and they were a hit at her sons race! Sorry, Liz-- This is my favorite picture of you three!

First, You will want to print your Mirrored image via sublimation.

This is my printer, The Epson 15000  and I always use HTVRONT Sublimation paper- As you can see the results were very vibrant!

Next, Cut your HTVRONT Vinyl to the size of your image. If you are not using a print to cut method, just lay your image down on the vinyl and cut around it.

After that, You will prepress your Tee shirt, then press the vinyl on as you would normal HTV, BUT I jack my heat to 375, and do it JUST long enough to make the vinyl stick (This is about 6-8 seconds on my Geoknight heat press)- If you go to peel and it isn't sticking press down again for a few more seconds.

Once you remove the carrier, place your Sublimation print face down on the piece of vinyl you just pressed, and then put a layer of Butcher paper on top of that to protect your heat press. This is the brand and kind I use at the shop! It also lasts a good while.

Press at 375 for about 40-45 seconds! When you remove your butcher paper and the print-- You will have an awesome DIY photo tee!
